Hot Tub Barn Secures Deal For Transatlantic Hot Tubs

by admin

Virgin Atlantic Plane Tail LogoAfter many years providing HotSpring hot tubs to consumers at our UK showrooms, Hot Tub Barn and our staff are going transatlantic thanks to a landmark deal to create a pioneering first in wet leisure. This exciting venture is the icing on the cake for us following our recent Dealer Of The Year award.

Historic Deal To Put Hot Tubs On Virgin Atlantic Flights

Today we're delighted to announce that our technical crew have been working with the amazing team at Virgin Atlantic to install hot tubs into each of the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft that join their fleet.

These aircraft will represent the ultimate in luxury as travelers will soon be able to enjoy a soak mid-flight, the addition of a hot tub augmenting the already unparalleled experience provided by the Virgin fleet of 787s, a plane the company describes as “an evolution in air travel”. Virgin currently has four Dreamliners in operation, with a planned nine by the end of this year, including on routes between London/Hong Kong, London/Delhi and London/Boston.

The project has been overseen by Service Manager Wayne Hitchcock, and was the brainchild of Hot Tub Barn MD Huw Chivers, who has been trying to make a deal of this type for several years. After a chance meeting with Virgin Atlantic founder Sir Richard Branson, he finally found somebody that shared his vision to change the face of flying forever, and the transatlantic tub was born.

Technical Challenges

The HotSpring Highlife NXT hot tubs being installed have been specially adapted by Hot Tub Barn technicians to perfectly integrate into the stylish cabin space inside Virgin's Dreamliner 787 aircraft. Bathing will be exclusively available to Upper Class passengers, who can book a dip as well as taking advantage of ad-hoc sessions.

"I've long dreamed of putting hot tubs into the sky, and we couldn't have a more fitting partner for this endeavour."

Crew on the flights will be trained on how to maintain good spa water chemisty, as well as in proper safety and emergency procedures. Passengers who are visibly intoxicated will not be permitted to use the hot tub.

“I'm absolutely overjoyed to make the announcement that Hot Tub Barn is once again spearheading innovation in the wet leisure industry with the installation of the first transatlantic hot tubs,” said Huw Chivers, Hot Tub Barn founder and Managing Director. “I've long dreamed of putting hot tubs into the sky, and we couldn't have a more fitting partner for this endeavour than Virgin Atlantic. I'm so proud to be able to give travellers the opportunity to join an exclusive new 'mile high club', one that I myself can't wait to be part of too.”

“This is turning out to be a fantastic year for us after first winning Dealer Of The Year, and now securing this historic deal. Everyone at the company is looking forward to seeing what the rest of 2015 brings.”
